Rigging Inspections FAQ

How can I schedule my inspection?

Scheduling is simple. Just fill out our online request form or give us a call to speak directly with a Liftgear representative. We’ll coordinate a time that works best for your team—whether on-site or at our facility—and make sure all necessary equipment and documentation are prepared in advance.

How often are rigging inspections required?

Per OSHA and ASME standards, rigging equipment should be visually inspected before each use, with periodic inspections conducted at least annually—or more frequently depending on usage intensity, environmental conditions, and safety policies.

At Liftgear, we help you stay compliant by offering both scheduled and on-demand inspections tailored to your operation.

Can you inspect at my job site?

Yes — we offer on-site rigging inspections through our mobile service team.

Whether you're working in a plant, warehouse, or field environment, we bring certified inspectors directly to your location to minimize downtime and ensure compliance on the spot.

What happens if something fails?

If equipment fails inspection, we’ll clearly document the issue in your report and flag it for removal from service per OSHA/ASME guidelines.

In most cases, we can recommend a repair, replacement, or in-house re-certification if eligible. Our team is trained to support you through the next steps quickly and professionally.

Do you provide re-certification tags?

Yes. After a successful inspection and any required load testing, we issue Liftgear-certified re-certification tags with:

- Unique serial/RFID ID
- Inspection date
- Load rating or capacity
- Next due date (if applicable)

These tags serve as your documented proof of compliance and are traceable in our internal system (and via RFID if enabled).
